I Have a 1994 4.0 Chimaera with heated mirors (well only one at the moment).

The drver side one seems to come on every time i start the car but the other one has never worked.

What should i be checking ?

Is there a seperate fuse for each side ?
Is it possible the glass has been repleced with out the heating element ? if so how do i know ?

Or is it a case of looking for a loose conection ?

Anyone with experiance or knowledge of this ?

One fuse two mirrors, they automaticaly come on every time the car is started. It sounds like an elment has burnt out or the glass has been replaced with one that has no elment. to check remove the glass and you should see two wires hanging off the back of the glass. It explaines how to remove the glass in the bible.

to get the glass out look in the gap between the bottom of the mirror and the surround and there is a small black plastic tab - move this sideways ( with a small screwdriver or similar) and the mirror will fall out - there is a slidy circular locking ring thingy that holds it in - you can then look to see if there is an element on it and if it is plugged in....

My passenger side mirror doesn't heat up because the traces on the back of the glass are broken. Sadly the breaks are under the double sided foam stuff.
