Impreza steering rack mod

The stops just slide on and sit depending on thickness in the recess at the end of the rack body. Thicker ones will obviously protrude a bit.
Thanks. There is no recess on the Subaru rack so the stop will just butt up against the main body of the rack. Not that I can find anything suitable anyway!Yes the plastic nylon washers i used just slid onto the rack itself and then like you say but against the rack outer body.
Definately got mine off the bay, perfect fit, i will see if i can find the advert.
ETA I think it was the M20 ones of these. You may have to open the hole very slightly or just warm them up before fitting.

Everything now bolted in place ready to measure for power steering hoses.
My plan is to use flexible custom hoses from Pirtek for everything as most appear to have done. Are there any rules, other than common sense, about how these are routed to avoid restricting flow? I ask as I recall hearing something about mismatched angles or something similar?
I have a similar setup to phazed, with an electric astra pump mounted centrally on the front chassis crossmember where the coolant expansion tank once lived.
Any advice appreciated.

I used a 90 degree union on the rack end of the hose and on the pump end. Having both 90 degree unions means they both have to be the perfect angle within the hose as once crimped you cant really alter them.
You would be better with 90 off the rack and then just a straight union on the other end of the hose. This way you wont get caught up with the 90 being at the wrong angle. On the pump just fit a 90 degree union for the straight union to attach to.
Hope that makes sense.

Yes that explains the mismatched angles thanksYou would be better with 90 off the rack and then just a straight union on the other end of the hose. This way you wont get caught up with the 90 being at the wrong angle. On the pump just fit a 90 degree union for the straight union to attach to.

I have been thru the thread but cannot find the range of years of car that will have the correct rack?
I have seen 1998 in the thread but how many years either side used the same rack?
Does the Turbo Impreza use the same rack?
It also mentions Classic Impreza, is this a certain model?
Thanks
Andy

Classic Impreaza are the first generation 1992 to 2000. I'd look for a WRX or STI rack.I have seen 1998 in the thread but how many years either side used the same rack?
