I recommend that you mount the exhaust first and then mark it off on the pipe, before welding a plate on and then drilling in situ. Its a PIA but the best way to get it accurate. I had my new flexi welded on and its about 10mm out, which puts the exhausts at the back out slightly. I'm going to widen the hole in the bracket so it aligns properly.

This is the best pics of mine I have, but its towards the front, near the expansion joint for the y-piece.

A motorcycle style band or strap mount going around the pipe and picking up the block boss would work...

When fitting a new SS exhaust supplied from ACT the approach is a clamped on bracket. ~You fit the exhaust then slide the bracket into place and tighten.

Thanks for the pictures guys. The ACT clamp makes sense, simple but effective. I like the ideas of the exhaust in bits too. Much easier to remove that way, without dropping the rear ARB either!

Worth keeping in mind that mine pictured is in more pieces than is standard from ACT. They did this to ease shipping costs to me for delivery to Japan. I dare say though that now they have done this once, they could repeat the process. Only ever had good experiences dealing with them.

Having just fitted one over christmas it's the pipe from the downpipe to the silencers that is in an extra piece, the rest looks about the same. One this I ended up doing though is spending ages tweaking and aligning up! Everything adjustable certainly keeps you occupied.
