How long have you had it?
Discussion
So, that's it really, how long have you had your Chimaera?
Bought mine in July 1999 as a 5 year old '94' 4.0
It's seen a lot of changes, originally lived outside and was my only car but used as a weekend toy, then drafted into daily commuting duties, then lived out it's most recent years as a pampered garage queen.

Found this graph quite interesting (god that sounds sad)

500ish Chimaera owners SORN their car over winter, one in six!
I've always kept mine running all year round.

It's not sad. For some people it makes sense.https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/tvr_chimaera

Two years ago a friend shamed me into taxing mine for the full year as he convinced me I was missing out on all those lovely cold crisp days that I could have some hood down, heater on hooning.
During the 6 months the car was usually Sorn'd I kept a tally of the days when I could actually use it.
There were two. Yes, two days when I could have snatched a couple of drives during daylight without driving in poor weather.
Now, he had also kept tally and came up with more than 40. Howver, he forgor that since he doesn't work he counted the days when I was stuck in an office during daylight hours. He counted days when it was icy and days when it was wet. Since I don't enjoy driving the car when it wa icy and wet, I don't. So for me it makes sense to tak the car off the road during winter. It saves some expense. It saves me from risking taking the car out when perhaps it would be wise not to. It saves the car from a salt bath and it gives me something to look forward to during these horible winter times. It also means I'm more likely to get the maintenanace and upgrades done while its off the road.

I was actually refering to the fact of finding a graph interesting, rather than SORNing a car sad. Only insofar as I feel sad not being able to drive it until Spring when I shall be
