My car looks a bit tired ,the interior is poor ,the chassis is good but just looks a bit rough with my hand painting . I`m not happy with the paint ,it only looks good in the sun and it`s full of stone chips .
If i went for a body of chassis restoration ,respray and new interior whats the whole lot going to cost me ?
Effectively i would have a new car . That`s what i want !

If you can get one place to do it all then that's going to save a few £££'s but it's still going to be eye watering, I'd guess at body off stuff, by the time you add a few mechanicals that it's daft not to do while it's in bits, hoses, bushes etc, that's £4k, interior easy £2k, paint another £2k at least, so £6kish sounds a fair shout, but then it turns into a 'forever car' as you'll never see the money again, and the spending doesn't stop, it always needs servicing and 'stuff' still wears out/breaks.

That seems cheap ,i thought a new interior cost 4 to 5 k alone .raceboy said:
I guess it depends on the level of finish, never priced up an interior, I've spent the last few years looking for viable new seats, gave up and decided to go for a whole better class of interior wrapped up in a different body.
You will be back to the TVR world just like Quinny . That car will put then years on you ..phazed said:
Daz, pull your finger out!
I did my 4.6.
Polybush all round
Shot blast and paint wishbones
Tidy chassis
Renew carpets
Cheap Respray, (non metallic)
All for about £1,500.00
Job done.

Not a bad idea, you could drop him a line to see why he's selling! In all honesty, you seem to spend £'s on performance upgrades Daz, why don't you do a body lift, send your seats for a re-trim and then fit a new carpet. You should be well sorted then.

Daz has done what matters most - performance.
The rest is for the polishing brigade....and there are so many of them our cars will never compete. I mean, ours have been driven
Never mind Daz. You are spot on, it will cost a fortune to sort out all the cosmetic stuff completely, and you know what will happen if you do?
Some uninsured eastern european/gypsy/tax inspector/plumber will crash into it, car a write off, insurers only willing to pay what it was worth before you did all that stuff.
None of the cosmetic work ever increases the value by more than about 10% of the cost, sadly.

Sad to have to say this, but the cheapest solution is to sell you car and buy a garage queen.
Your car is pretty good, Daz, there will be buyers out there for it.
Plenty come up where PHers are either trading up to a Sagaris, or sideways to a Vantage, T350 or Tuscan, or down to a Griff .
And also, selling because they never use the car(a(nd Erin Dawes, with whom they are Holy Deadlock, wants to spend the money on a new kitchen/extension/world cruise/car she actually likes being in).
