Sorry guys I know I am trespassing, me being an S3 owner and all, but your thread got me searching for pictures of the S with different wheels and I came across these pics of TVRs with big shoes and thought you might be interested!

daren have to agree that the original chim wheels do look good and very hard to better
the down side is they are 15" and 16" and just don't fill the wheel arch enough

comments from people at car shows when they see my chim is "very nice car" the wheels need to be bigger ?

ATS3 thanks for the info regards to wheels , what wheels are you thinking of putting on your S

Keith, you can always fit 16" to the front as well to help balance things up a little (as in my pics on the "Chimaeras" post recently start by Chilli).

hi all

well I now have some new wheels for my chim , I would like to thank all those that helped me with sizing , tyres. offsets etc
also those that I emailed for advice and Qbee "Anthony" for his valued experience

what I went for in the end was the lenso bsx 17" all round 7.5j , 25 offset on the front and 35 offset to the rear
I tried to keep the new tyre sizes as close as possible to the original overall wheel/tyre diameter allowing for the new 17" wheels
I done this to make sure the new wheels would fit with no problems of rubbing which was a major concern

so the front tyres were 215/40/17 and the rears 225/45/17 , please take note that 215/45 on the front would have rubbed on the inside of the wheel arch on full lock for me

now some photos of before and after , cheers keith beer

Good choice Keith. They suit the Crystal Verde car very well IMHO.

Our mutual friend in Dowmam Market thought they were very expensive wheels when he saw them in the flesh. yes

very nice.
will be a bugger to clean wink
I would recommend this http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/sealants/finishkare-...
takes a while to properly wax them but its 100% worth it especially with them being so shiny new. Wax the inside as well it will stop brake dust and crap sticking. Then a quick rinse every few days or even time time you go out and they should stay looking mint for ages

I think those wheels are too complicated IMHO for the chim although each to ones own.

I believe a simpler design suits the chim.

Pete where did you get the front splitter from?

hi all

I need some advice on tyre pressures for my new wheels , i'm very pleased with how my chim handles now
it feels more planted to the road and a slightly firmer ride which I like I guess that the lower profile tyres are doing that

my only query is the steering feels lighter "not so much driver feed back from the road to steering wheel" than when I had the original tyres on ? I thought the steering with the new wheels /tyres
would have been slightly heavier going from a 205/55/15 to a 215/40/17 ? I do have power steering

I have set tyre pressure to 24/25psi front and the rears on 26/27 psi
today I have lowered the fronts to 23psi and the rears at 26psi and this seems to be a bit better , how low can you go before the pressure is to low

your advice on what you are running psi wise on similar tyre sizes please "road use"

Try varying the pressures until it feels best. I run 22 front, 24 rear

If I haven't responded earlier, it was a "one off" made for a cerb that I had to adapt.

I've had these around in my garage since winter last year, the old faithful RS7s. I do like these. I've been told that spacers are required on the front sometimes.

If anyone want my old Imolas to experiment with colours or to fit the 16" on the front please get in touch.
