I`m having new carpets but can`t decide if to have wool or nylon .
The center console is being re trimmed and maybe the door bolsters .The door card will be vynl or leather but only if i decide to have new door bolsters .
I`ts not a full re trim but just enough to tidy it up .
Just can`t decide .
Daz - I had the same doubts on carpet. Advice I got was that while wool was originally used it does fade and where it goes round tight external corners you do sometimes (with cheaper carpet) see the backing through the pile. The center console is being re trimmed and maybe the door bolsters .The door card will be vynl or leather but only if i decide to have new door bolsters .

I went for a modern high quality automotive carpet - same as you get in a new Jag or Merc. I prefer the look - some will disagree.
As for everything else - leather all the way!

Are you talking about the shorter pile automotive carpet like a velor .I went for a modern high quality automotive carpet - same as you get in a new Jag or Merc. I prefer the look - some will disagree.

Yeah, thats the stuff, lots of different grades though. I went for a charcoal black, looks great imho but its a personal thing. Saw a Chim recently with leather covering the area behind the seats instead of carpet. Not to my taste but looked 'different'
That might be Jammy Dodgers .Nooooooo! Don't tell me I was in the presence of the most famous Chim on PH and didn't realise it
I miss that guy, his shenanigans were the best thing on here for a long while. I know he's on FB but i'm not (its the work of the devil)
The car I saw was having a nice blue interior. Never thought to check out the engine and rest of it.

Im wondering if it would be possible to loose the cigarette lighter and ash trays, would make it look cleaner .
I am sure I have read here that there was an option not to have the ashtrays. Would be very simple to fill over with fibreglass prior to retrim, and would (if true) not be a visible modification. You would have to modify access to screw for doorcards, or change/remove it, though. You could do the same for the ciggie lighter but I would be minded to fit a couple of USB charge points there instead. I often wonder why cars come with 12v lighter sockets and not USB - after all, thats what most people do with them. Perhaps newer cars have this? You can buy adaptors for this very purpose - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Vktech-Double-DC-DC-Conver... other suppliers are available.
You could, alternatively, fit the window switches in place of the lighter, which would do away with the concerns over dropping voltage with weedy wires and subsequently slow windows? Price for this is switches on show...
