Looks awesome thumbup
Had a look through some of your other pictures and having just about completed my restoration I know how much work goes into a project like this.

Looking good Walt. Great to see more and more Chims getting the treatment they deserve to keep them on the road for many years to come.

As annoying as things like this are, if like me, you should celebrate the mammoth task you've completed to get to the minor niggles left beerclap

Looking back I have enjoyed the project and completed it on target, the biggest problem is, the car looks exactly the same unless you open the bonnet, the interior and exterior are still a bit tatty but that's a project for another year.

Not wishing to teach you to suck eggs and all that but there is a bleed nipple on the master cylinder which is often overlooked, at the front of the cylinder and a pig to get at!!

All information is welcome!
I didn't know about that bleed nipple but I was e-mailed yesterday about it but I am going to get the local garage tidy it up & get the MOT.

I bought a Gunson "eezibleed" but it was still soft after using it but I never bled the master cylinder so hopefully that's all it needs.

That was the problem I had with an EaziBleed too ... Also the damn thing never sealed quite right around the reservoir filler neck and also you had to keep topping up the reservoir or you'd end up blowing air back into the system and have to start again.

Quite impressed that that Sealy one is that effective ... I've got my Brembos to go on shortly and I'll want to replace the fluid as well as bleeding the Brembos so that looks ideal and worth a punt.

I didn't keep a great record of times but possibly about 2.5 months for me but I was only putting in about 9 hours a week, I didn't want to put my life on hold or grow to hate doing it, as you can see from my posts I started in late Jan & finished in the Aug. I think the chassis was away for about a month in between.

This seals really nice and tops up automatically as you go

when your alone you can also make something yourself, works perfect.

with a small bottle, then sit in the car and pump a few times for the rough work, then the rest (fine-tuning) you can just open the nipple a bit on the brake calliper till only fluid comes out.

Thats for the brake callipers if you have also higher up such things to get air out, ofcourse also do it there.

I tried the tube immersed in a jar of fluid first but that didn't work which is why I bought the Gunson kit.

Hi you really only need the tube in jar but bleed the nipple on the master cylinder first,I did the same as you and bled all four brakes several times and still had soft pedal, bled one on master cylinder then four brakes pedal now rock hard.

Hi NFB, I am sure you are right but I am hoping to get it into the local garage this week & he is happy to tidy it up for me.
