Hi all having owned my Chimaera for the best part of two years without any issues apart from one instance of trusting fuel gauge and running out of petrol. The dreaded non start issue has reared its ugly head .
The battery went flat and once charged no fuel pump prime or crank . I locked and unlocked ,disconnected battery but all to no avail. I suspect the issue is related to the immobilizer ? With security in mind and all owners attachments to their pride and joys has anybody got the wiring diagrams for immobilizer/ alarm as like most TVR owners I wouldn't mind fixing this myself. Due to the security issues I am quite prepared to prove ownership,be confidential, etc to any person that could possibly help me . If anybody else has any different ideas please let me know

Thanks Rick

Not saying it isn't the immobiliser as no fuel or cranking sounds like it probably is, but have you checked the fuel relay in the footwell spaghetti? and the connection at the fuel pump which may have come loose/broken or just be corroded.

both easy to do and good to rule out before getting into bypassing the immobiliser.

This.
I have to change my relays every two years. If it is do not buy cheap replacements as some drain the battery biggrin

Replace both at the same time, they are interlinked, which is why you should never swap them over in an effort to diagnose a problem.

You said the battery went flat. I think that when ths happens the immobiliser may get disconnected from the key, and that there is a method of reconnecting it, which requires pressing and holding the button on the key fob, or something similar. Someone will be along who knows if I am talking round objects...

The old grey matter still functioning A-OK there Anthony - no spherical objects detected!

Press and hold the fob button whilst re-connecting the battery should sync them up, obviously if the door locks operate from the fob already then system should already be in sync.

Hi. I have a problem with the alarm and immobiliser on my 1997 400 too.
I have bypassed the starter immobiliser but have been looking at the HPA kit from Abacus Alarms as a permanent fix.
Just wondered how you got on with it as it seems to preserve the integrity of the original alarm without fitting a complete new system?
Regards, Chris.

Hi I have got alarm sitting on side with new wood dash still not fitted due to work commitments and a wife that seems to want me to finish decorating hallway first before spending time in garage . Like you said it keeps it pretty similar to standard but upgraded . It also gives me boot release on fob and also I have ordered 2 fobs incorporated with key blanks that I need to get cut . It looks to be a really easy fit with just extra wire going to boot release all the rest is just connecting using original connectors . As soon as I have fitted it will give u an update but looks easy and no need to chop wiring loom up .
Hope this helps

Hi, I would be interested to hear about your new dash as I am looking to do mine soon.
Any info on the quality and how you get on changing would be appreciated.

Hi Chris fitted abacus alarm kit it is more or less plug and play apart from running wire to boot opening switch so I can now open boot from fob , only other extra is if your siren is defective and running new siren wire and relocating siren in a different position to reduce possibility of water ingress which could damage alarm system .
Obviously you would need to remove dash top and radio to gain access to old alarm and imobilizer units . Also guy at abacus extremely helpful
