As a way of an update on the Orange Chimaera - we have decided to now fit a sequential box to the Cerbera (follow that on another thread) - so the Tremec TKO600 will now be dropped into the Chimaera, this is part of a bit of a refurb both softening the suspension, dropping out the race clutch and generally making it more road friendly again. As you can see from pictures it now has a stable mate in a Ginetta G40 GT5 - for those who don't know them Ginetta build cars in the TVR style of chassis and fibreglass panels. We will be racing it in the GT5 Championship next year.

If anyone is interested in seeing it run will be at Snetterton 1st November on a trackday.

Now we'll find out just how good you are Nick,, wink
I already know your a fast boy mate, just joking smile

Already in progress smile - Karting every week for fitness seems to be doing the trick, oh and stopping eating chocolate cake every day :P

You'll be well on it then Nick. Goodluck and the racing should be close and great fun.
Out of interest, so are the panels detachable so you can repair a corner rather than the whole thing,I've never looked at these cars that closely but I've always liked them.

The best of luck for next year Nick, I know a couple of Ginetta racers - a Father & Son, with the Son being one of the works team drivers so I'll be keeping in touch with proceedings through the newsletters etc. Had a good look around the factory along with QBee last year, nice environment and a couple of particularly interesting display cars!

P.S. Am I the only one that's noticed a blinding error in Nicks latest choice of car though..............it's not ORANGE !!!

Thanks for that John. I get the feeling your going to be very competitive and have an absolute ball racing one of these cars.
Can't wait to watch your progress.
Many regards Alun

Zetec maybe it's parts of the regs for that series.
My mate bought brand new Zetecs direct from Ford for about £700 each. So he got two.
With a bit of tuning they still fly wink

It looks like a G40 to me, so google Ginetta Junior racing.
It's been all over the telly the last couple of years, so it should be all over YouTube.
To me they look pretty quick

Very quick - look at http://www.tsl-timing.com/event/153405/session/qu1... - quickest time 2:08 for Snetterton which obviously has quite a few long straights, on shorter trackers they are even more competitive.

QBee - it is a G40 but it is the GT5 variant which has more power + more Aero, the Junior is GRDC, then they have GRDC+ - and then the top class is GT5.

Like any car - open the door and park arse on seat, I imagine.
Though with a full roll cage this might involve some amateur gymnastics. hehe
