First blast done and primer to protect while repairs are carried out.

All is looking good, except the outriggers obviously, only a couple of spots for a closer look.

And welds that have small holes.

And a clean look at the body filler corner.

And finally for the pictures chassis number and a second ID plate, what's the second number ?

Some scary pctures of body filler there, and I bet your car is not the only one out there with body filler chassis and porosity on the welds, mine was terrible when the body was lifted, but it looked fine when inspecting it from under when lifted on a 2 post lift !!!!!

Colin,

Considering the age of the Chassis I think that's in pretty good nick.

Keep those posts coming & you'll be back on the road in no time.

Engine also dropped off yesterday for a strip down, check over and rebuild.
Got a call today to say what I pretty much knew already, it's not a BV.
I'm not disappointed as it was never sold as such but it would have been a nice surprise.

The stamped plate on your last picture 19293. 19th Febuary 1993 by any chance. Its near the build date.

That would make sense, the body was finished on the 18th of February 1993.
Thanks, every day should be a school day smile

Who's doing the metalwork for you mate, or are you doing it yourself?

Hey Ged
A lot of things happening but not much going on is the long and short of it.

Engine away, hopefully gearbox too soon, interior away, body away in 3 weeks, outriggers still a work in progress.

So loads happening but very little by me.

Main sticking point and hold up is the outriggers. Seen/spoken to about 15 welders/fabricators/engineers and no one wanted to carry out the work or take responsibility if they did it wrong. I was close to packing it all in and selling off parts but a week ago I gave myself a shake, phoned some friends (OC42, Mark_S_24, Marcus1875) and came up with a bit of an unconventional plan. Pictures to follow if it works.

All going well chassis will be done by the end of the month and back on its wheels.
I see you've been marching on really well.

So you found someone to do the welding, hooray.

Is all the welding done?
Whats next?

Just one side tacked up tonight.
Other side tacked tomorrow.
Final measure and full weld Wednesday.
Fingers crossed it'll be in for paint and back by the next week.

Hopefully full steam ahead from here, I'm looking forward to seeing that engine back in the chassis! Shiny new bits are always morale boosting.
