Great post and good to see someone local to me doing a body off. What paint did you use for the little bits that you never sent away with the chassis and who did the chassis for you.

Hey Mark,
There is always time for lube wink
Lube that came in the kit from www.superflex.co.uk and my vice worked wonders and made the job a lot easier.

And hey James
If you're up this way soon give me a shout and come and see what's involved with a restoration thumbup
All the hand painted bits are "Direct to rust" Hammerite smooth silver.
As for the chassis, it has been a pain in the rear end trying to find the right people to do the job to my high standards but after along search and many people looking at it I found the right ones.
The welding was done by one of the guys from George Browns, a local engineering firm and the blasting and painting of the chassis and parts was by Henderson metal cleaning.

Hi colin. That looks like it is coming together nicely. One thing. Are those new top ball joints on the front suspension?
If so then with the distance pieces fitted make sure you have full travel on the castor adjustment. When I did my refurb I needed one new top joint and the diameter of the circular body on the new one was too large and fouled the end of the wishbone before reaching the full castor angle adjustment. A judicious bit of grinding and filing sorted it.Best of luck with the rebuild.thumbup

You mean full range of Camber adjustment. The Castor angle is adjusted by the spacer in front of the upper balljoint. teacher
Be aware that not all balljoints will give you full adjustment - the ones from TVR Powers do. smile

Don't rush it Cokes, my problem is I Iike stuff in semi build,,, I'd stand and admire that chassis for hours and hours smile

Powers might not be the cheapest supplier but everything I've had from them fits and works well.

After trying a few different front droplinks, with none looking quite right, I've now found these.

A bit short from today's plan.
A few issues with me being thick and putting the hubs on the wrong way at the front but now sorted.

The story so far.
