Thanks Max.
Every day is a small step closer biggrin

Tonight at TVRus

3 TVRs tonight as Ollie needed some alignment done.

It was all about the manifolds and Y piece for me tonight.

Tonight on the "What the hell is broken now" show.

Can you guess what's missing.

Leaking from the vent.

With only 3 weeks left it's a huge set back.
And to add insult to injury, there is more brake fluid on the floor of my garage than in the pipes.

What I have managed to do is fit the ACT air hoses and Pipercross filter.

Hey Phil,
Not really thought about it yet. As you can see from the picture it was previously held on with self tappers on the uprights but I'm not sure if I like that idea. I'll have a look tomorrow night and report back.

23 days left to finish her.
Windscreen went back in tonight, well mostly. Still a little fettling to do with the lower seal once the bond has cured.
So started on the lights. New covers for the rear lights. Drivers side went on like a dream, passengers side, not so much. Going to have to trim the cover to make it fit. Some very careful dremeling tomorrow evening.
Fronts were test fitted and I'm not so happy with the glass. Just doesn't seem to sit right. Going to need to look up some pictures to see if mine are even close to sitting right.
Also connected the battery up for the first time. No puffs of smoke from behind the dash I was glad to see.
Apart from a couple of bulbs to change in the rear lights and a sticky drivers window it seemed to be a success.

Does anyone know the dimensions required to set up the head light alignment ?

Fingers crossed everyone please, I hope to get a new water pump delivered tomorrow and fitted along with renewing a couple of brake lines. That and the lights fixed/sealed and I think I might get to drive her again. Many miles running in the rebuilt engine to do.

No - it is an aftermarket grill I believe......

there is a mounting plate with aradilted nuts which the outer grill attaches to. Those bolts come away and I had to grind the darn heads off 3 of the bolts to remove the grill.

Just thinkng of other ways to mount now....

So with the same nose as mine but different grill.
My current thoughts are to use the self tappers again but with number plate caps to hide the screws.

Do you have pictures of your grill ?

I had a look at it tonight and I've found my rubber/seal very stiff.
I'm sure with a bit of working I could get it to sit right but for now I'm thinking if I was to stay with the original look then I'm going to need new rubbers.
It's still formed to the shape of the nose but I'm scared if I work it too hard trying to put it back together it'll crumble.
I am sorry this doesn't help at the moment but by the end of the weekend I'll have worked out a better looking and more secure fitting if you can please bear with me until I do.

Made a list today, excuse the scribbled note.

This and about 700 miles of running in of the engine to be done in 10 days.
Cutting it close ?

As long as I can get the oil sender adaptor ASAP then I've still got a chance.

Hang in there Colin!!

And I would add one last thing to your list....

.....fluid check - all fluids (diff, gearbox etc).

I just know I would probably forget one!

Keep at it! smile

Few things done and one added, Nosh wink

I've given up looking for the correct sender adaptor, full story if you don't know.
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I've handed the pump to a local engineering firm to tap out the hole to make the 3, yes 3, adaptors I've got so far fit.
Fingers crossed, again, I'll have it back tomorrow.
