She lives cloud9

Wrong timing cover gasket fitted.

Can you spot the problem ?

First time she's moved under her own steam since 22nd of February.
A quick round the block (less than a mile)to check all is well and she's back on a trailer to be brought back to my garage tomorrow.

Timing to set and then it's running in time.

Serp gasket fitted instead of pre serp.

If you look closely at the left side where the gasket sat it covers a hole.

Well it was very short lived frown

Only a few miles in and there is a very loud clunk clunk clunk clunk from the differential area.

I'll get under her tonight and see if anything is visable external to the diff and if not I guess I'm taking it out again.

Go round all the suspension bolts including ARB and make sure they are all tight, then go round the diff bolts and do the same. Make sure the bolts to the front diff brackets are F tight!
Then do the same for the exhaust mounting plate.

Good luck,

Not as bad as first thought.

Split diff bush and the prop UJ is hitting the chassis causing the clunk.

Everything was torqued to the correct setting so I'm guessing faulty bush.

Nope.
Now SORN'ed.
MOT ran out on the 23rd.
Still ordering parts to continue with the diff mount and chassis, yes chassis, repairs.

This is, cleaned up, where the propshaft UJ was rattling against the chassis.

I'm also going to do some sorting out of the geometry on the front wheels as at the moment they are as far in at the top ball joint as it will go but is still not far enough so is still positive camber.

The work continues.

Does yours have the early 2 piece top front wishbone? I seem to remember the early ones won't adjust enough but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than I will confirm. Think is is why they went to the one piece version
