Thanks Alun biggrin
Body off on sunday, hopefully. I've got 1 volunteer so far, thanks to Mark_S_24. Any more are welcome thumbup

The idea of the block and tackle is that I should be able to do it all myself but more hands and eyes the better.
Dude, excellent progress.
Are you lifting with the one block and tackle?
My plan is to lift the body on the 14th March so 1 week behind you.
I'm also planning to have 3 people (me + 2 others) doing the lift.

Best of luck with the lift, I'm looking forward to your weekend update! biggrin

Strip coming along nicely Cokes. That corner outrigger is shocking. Kinda makes me feel better about the state of my own chassis hehegetmecoat
Good luck with the lift. I did mine on my own with 4x4 posts, so you'll be fine with that block and tackle.

They way I'm thinking, and if my calculations are correct, is as follows.
Body weight <500kg
Strap around beam and small yellow strap on bottom hook capable of 3000kg each.
Each corner will have a strap capable of 1000kg.
The block and tackle is rated to 1000kg so I'd like to think I've got enough to lift nearly the whole car, not that I'm going to try that.

Sounds good to me mate. Be interested to see pics of your set up - I appreciate you may well have other things on your mind at the time though! biggrin

[quote=Cokes]Quick update tonight.
Choked with the man flu and ache from head to toe but couldn't resist a quick trip to the garage.
Set up my new block and tackle ready for the lift.

Might be a good idea to put another pair of castors straddling the join in the pallets for extra support. smile

Damn, spotted my flaw.
I've already looked into getting another 2 or 4 wheels for the middle after standing on it and seeing some flexing.

Make it 1 pallet but 2 high
Put your 3*2 on the top of that
No nead for any more wheels

Wouldn't that be putting too much weight on a smaller area causing more chance of bending, flexing and chance of cracking ?
I thought it would be better to spread the weight as much as possible.
