Will it get worse then eventually blow ? I`m a bit annoyed because i did ask the question if they need torquing up after so many miles .

I can see oil seeping out the gasket and there is staining on the block .Can it be nipped or do the heads need removing .rolleyes

Nipping head bolts up at a later date can cause more problems that the worth of it. Moving things that have settled nicely etc. IMHO.

Not necessarily, head gaskets seal a lot of things....obviously the cylinders, several waterways and an oilway or two. Everything else could be sealed just fine, only that one oil passage leaking to outside.

So Daren, did you find the source of the oil leak and a way to cure it?

Cheers Andy

That's what was leaking from my engine when I first bought her, that and a stuck pressure release valve,,,I did 10,000 miles + in the first year with it like that, no exhaust smoke and car went well but huge puddles of oil on the drive!
It had been doing it long before I got the car too.

No leaks from valley gasket area on mine, I've checked, definitely weeping out of the gap between the head and block at both ends of each head implying that it is wicking through the gasket like some sort of capillary action!

Has anybody else seen or heard of this?
