Where have you fitted yours? My battery is staying in the footwell for the time being, but I'd like to fit an isolator, so I don't have to faff about removing the battery if I need to do some work. I have seen a few on Ebay, but was converned about the bare live terminals at the back being exposed.

Any pics?

You know where mine is wink

Access is poor but just in front of the wiper motor on the inner wing. All terminals well out the way.

Interesting. Can't remember where mine is from! I'll keep your thoughts in mind.

I've had a BatteryBrain on my Chimaera for years now, simple remote disconnects & reconnects ten feet from the car using the IR fob.

You can use it to disconnect the battery after locking the car so mitigating any parasitic drain and keeping your battery in perfect condition for the next start, even if the car hasn't been driven for months.

It also acts as a security device and will even disconnect your battery automatically if you leave you're lights on ensuring there's enough juice left to start the car.

If you want a battery isolator but hate grubbing in the passenger footwell then the BatteryBrain is the answer.

All the other features and benefits make it a no-brainer in my book.

Thanks for the responses. I just want something... errr, cheap... ish! Had to spend money on the Mundano the past couple of months. The BatteryBrain looks good, but is a little steep.

Yep, not the cheapest option but soooo much more convenient!

And you only buy it once, a few weeks with a BatteryBrain and you'll never look back.

Dont forget the ECU will loose its fuel trim settings each time the battery is disconnected- its no big deal, but the car may run rough until the ECU has managed to reset the long term trim- this takes around 2.5 mins at idle on a hot engine (> 90'C). Also if you run the engine with a cool or no thermostat, the trim will never get reset, that can lead to some shunting issues. A battery conditioner is really a better option than constant disconnects on the 14CUX ( not on COG's set up, as hes not got one.... smile)

It isn't constant disconnects I'm after. Just convenience for when I'm working on the car. I have an Accumate and use it occasionally. I'm running a larger E39 AGM battery too, which holds it's charge pretty well, even without the trickle charger.
