Has anyone done this? I need to find one to listen to. I have a 4.0 Chim, already decatted with clive F Y piece but i think i'm hooligan enough to want more noise.... as long as it still sounds nice.

I know many think it's too much but I think i wanna hear it for myself to believe it!

I had mine done a few yrs back and I hated it and so did the wife.
It was too raw for us.
Had flames but it wasn't a nice V8 sound to us.

It was too much for me, so much so the Y piece came back off within 20mins of going on. Each to their own though. No videos on youtube? I should have thought and made one.

Did for a while but was just too loud; unpleasantly embarrassingly so. Not recommended.

Standard silencing with no cats however, is about perfect smile

Had this. Sounds fookin awesome over 3k RPM, but wet and farty under! A not so friendly, friendly MOT tester failed me on noise too.

I have left mine decatted, but re-packed my silencer with perf and wadding. At first it sounded a little flat, but I think some of the wadding has burn't out and loosened up a little now and it sounds pretty good, but without the agricultural farting sound.

I'm going to try perfed cherry bombs next.

Since you came out in mine when it was sleeved I have had a y piece fitted but still have pre cats in. Still get the Tug boat sound at tick over but as already said it is awesome higher up the range. Much more pops and they are louder too.

Blackpoolrock (Calvin) has his straight through and its bonkers.

Welcome to come out again and have a listen.

I blame you for my wanting more pops and bangs! What is the rough cost of getting the straight through pipes fitted? And then putting the old ones back in a month later?!

Also wih servicing do I have to use a TVR specialist or is anywhere fine, just so long as I get it done?

I think I paid around £70 to have it sleeved, I guess it would be the same to have it reversed.

If you do a lot of miles and motorway work it might be too much sleeved. Mine is a toy so it doesn't bother me. Not used it for any long trips yet so I will have to see if ear plugs are required for that but I did replace the original stereo at the weekend so I might be able to drown the Zaust out if needed.

I wouldn't trust a non TVR specialist with my car. Servicing with a specialist wont be much more but the extra is worth it.

Did you get it sleeved at a specialist or can any good mechanic do that?

I recently paid £180 to have mine sleeved by a TVR specialist which took about 2 half hours. I still have all cats in which doesn't make it quite as raw.

There is a clip of the sound on my profile(Go to my garage)on tick over it is a bit raw but when on the move and holding low revs for motorway drives or long A,B roads steady 50-60 I don't notice much difference from the standard set up.

When under acceleration it gives a very nice sound and giving the throttle a light feather when coming off the power it pops and bangs,so if you don't want it to pop/bang then don't feather the throttle.

I find it a real happy balance but you do loose that original V8 sound which is beautiful as standard. I blame/thank Thunder in the tunnels for going sleeved when hearing some of the cars on the event I felt something was missing. Am I glad I did it? yes
