A couple of recent posts and th realisation that I have owned my Chim for 9 years set me thinking about longevity of ownership.

All of the Chim owners I know have had their cars for more than 5 years suggesting the cars bring with them a sense of ownership satisfaction.

So, how long have you owned your current Chimaera.

I realise some will have lost a car in an accident and bought another but I'm curious about how often they seem to change hands so please answer with the length of ownership of your current car.

For those who have more than one perhaps give the length of time you have owned the earlier one you bought (IYSWIM).

Just past 10 years this month...

One engine re-build, (snapped Crank! Hydraulic Lock due to weeping HG)
One new radiator
One new alternator
Usual supply of brakes / tyres etc.

Broken down (while out on a run etc) twice (radiator & alternator as above).
60K miles approx since I bought her.

could really do with a interior re-fresh and usual stone chips etc

I do not have any intentions of selling anytime soon!

Ian.

Nearly 5 years now. Not using it in winter probably keeps me keen. Oddly, my old XK8 gets more favourable attention out and about, but the TIV still feels much more special to me.

8 Years here, currently having 2nd engine rebuild, last one only 3 years (9000 miles) ago so going to have to keep for another 3 years or so to justify the expense!!

wavey Lew,

I met you at the Jaguar SS when you told me you were thinking of getting one when we were admiring each others cars.

Congratulations thumbup Can't be many people that buy one of these and will see a greater MPG than their previous car. Still got the V12 Jag?

Hello Jason! I meant to message you on here funnily enough to let you know I have one at last. Thanks very much. I do still have the Jag but it will be going very shortly, just a few last jobs to do and then it will be advertised. I'll be sad to see it go as it's been a great experience but fundamentally the TVR feels so much more fun. I take it you will be at the Burghley meet? I should be heading up weather permitting.
