Thinking ahead to this year's summer holiday, and I think I'm going to see how good the Chimaera is as an all-terrain vehicle. It's got the engine out of a Range Rover, so off-roading must be in the car's DNA.

So the first question is what tyres I should choose. I'm running 205/55/15 and 225/50/16 at the moment, but I've seen these and wonder if I could get them in a suitable size:

I think they'd also suit the car well. Any other suggestions?

I'm aware that the air intake is quite low down. Does anyone know of a suitable snorkel kit for the Chimaera? I've Googled but can't find anything. Surely somebody must have designed something to meet this obvious need.

I ought to have a think about mud flaps too. And maybe some extra spotlights - ChimpOnGas has provided plenty of useful stuff on that subject.

And finally, I guess I'm going to need to do a 4x4 conversion. Which transfer boxes would fit? Has anyone ever done this to a Chimaera?

No need for a snorkel.
Water easily escapes through the rear pipes.
