Problem

So the engines all back in 1 piece.
Connected the battery, fuel pump primed, engine cranked but not firing, engine still cranking with key removed.

Help

Just sorted it.
Apparently didnt like the Range Rover alternator i fitted.
Swapped in the old one and it fired up. I kept the revs up for a few mins. Sounded good.

Leaky heater pipe. Otherwise revving freely

old thread same problem.

So the new engine build is back in and i have the same problem as last time.

When the engine is cranking at full speed it keeps cranking when the key is turned off or the starter button is released.

Last time i just swapped the alternator and that somehow fixed it but this is the 'good' one.

Also noticed the fuel pump is not priming so something is not right unless thats a seperate fault.

If you mean you want to start it and are trying to start it, but it doesn't want to because the fuel pump isn't priming, do you think you could have tripped the inertia switch while working on the car?
