I've found a few drops at the rear of the Chim on the garage floor... just when the weather picks-up! banghead

Yes. No combustion in the diff, which is what makes it black.

Just keep an eye on the level and make sure the filler and drain plugs are tight, it's hardly going to turn into a gusher, I would be enjoying this weather it can wait.

Okay, sounds stupid, but how do I check the level? Is there a plug that is accessible for checking the level?

From memory the top up plug is also the level indicator. Fill it until it runs out. Then you have the correct level.

Where should I be looking on the diff? I've had a search on google images. Is the filler plug the one arrowed? What size spanner do I need?

I'm pretty sure it's the bolt on teh side that the tag is held on by in your photo there...

Arrow is pointing to the breather in the picture above, as said top up plug is on the side.

There is very little access to the level plug as it is very close to a chassis rail. You will need a 29mm open ended spanner to undo this.

True, but 29mm is easier to buy if you don't already have one.
