When you say no clutch pedal, do you mean it won't budge (this happened to me) or it's dropped to the floor?

In my case, the pedal went rock hard, the slave cylinder had seized.I could just change gear until the rod bent.

If there is fluid on garage/drive floor its most likely to be the slave cylinder which is easy to do
If it was the master cylinder it would be on the car floor or is that what you mean

Thanks for this, pedal goes to the floor and fluid on the road. Where is the cylinder on the car is it under the black cover fastened by four screws ?

Yes master cylinder under plastic cover, but as previously said, if the fluid is on the road its more likely the slave cylinder at the gearbox that's gone.

Or it could be the Clutch fork bent/twisted/cracked (as happened to me last month)..
Has the pedal got only half its normal travel?. If yes it may be worth checking.

Sounds like the slave cylinder as, as the OP's said, the fluid would be inside the car from the master. I have done both recently, started with fluid dripping off the clutch pedal so changed the master and then few weeks later the slave went. Easy job but do get a proper TVR slave cylinder as other cheaper aftermarket ones that are the right dia may have a different pipe thread. Only point to watch is if bleeding the 'old' way (using a helper in the car to operate the pedal) you have a maximum of 3 pedal pushes before the tiny master cylinder has to be topped up, because if you let it get too low then you have to start over again!

This happened to mine 4 months ago, pedal completely to the floor. I filled up the fluid chamber and with some pumping got enough clutch back to be able to drive it.

It was then a really easy fix because I drove to David Geralds who put a new Slave cylinder in smile at what I thought was very reasonable price at under £200

Would explain the poor pedal action but not the escaped fluid on the floor.

If the clutch fork has deformed, the slave cylinder piston can jack itself out to the max and weeps fluid, especially if you have been pressing the pedal very hard. I had limited travel and it felt like the pedal was hitting a stop (the slave cyl at full travel)

The travel of the pedal went to the floor very easy so hopefully just slave cylinder. Do you know if this is a rover part ? Cheers
