Congratulations on your purchase! It's such a nice colour.

Also I recommend the Leven roof cover. Purposely made to fit the Chimaera and it wont damage your paint like a full cover could.

I second that choice of cover. I started out with a full one, like you would, to keep the whole car clean. But in a storm it flaps all over the paint work, and you cannot help making a little damage getting it on and off.

What you actually need is the Leven half cover, which is heavy, doesn't flap, and just covers the hood and windows. I will post a few photos when I am at my computer so you know what you are looking for. They are only available second hand, but if you ask nicely on PH someone who no longer uses theirs will pass it on to you.

heres some pics but are the ones from the advert as not picked the car up yet.

Nice! thumbup

The hood looks to be folded nice and low as well, I'm intrigued as to whether it is an original hood and, if it has been replaced, the shape of the rear window.

I believe the roof is the original but the rear window is split slightly on both sides the owner dropped the price a bit so we could get that replaced

Do you not worry about paint damage from being outside? That's my main concern as we get debris from the house roof when heavy rain sets in.

No he doesn't, it can only improve his colour scheme.
That strip of masking tape down the bonnet is covering a lot of it up anyway.... laugh

It was a concern but the house roof was in particularly good condition, although I didn't have too much choice at the time, as I lost my rented garage. photo was taken in June last year, she'd been living outside for five months by then.. I moved in August last year, and she now lives here smile

I think a full cover is going to be my only option.

Here's mine, taken from a different angle to show the flaps that insert into the boot and bonnet to fix it in place

They were originally made and sold by Leven, the people who make the alloy indicator and wiper stalks. I don't believe they are made any more, but people who have them sell them either when they get a garage, or when they sell the car. They are generally around £50 second hand. They are really well made, heavy, and a snug fit, so they don't flap.

my 1995 will be coming up for sale in the next month or so.

Booked into Central TVR next week for rear end respray, chassis rust treatment, waxoyl and nice carbon fibre dash.

Passed MOT last four years I have owned with only a brake light switch and a cold temp sensor needed, no advisories on any of them, last one I got under the car on the lift and had a good poke around, entire chassis was solid.

12k

I did put it on at xmas (hence the pics) but I decided to wait until summer so took it off, I got fed up of being asked stupid questions and offered 2k plus 'my mates GTI', decided ebay isnt the place for these.... It is now nearly summer.
