I guess this is a bit of how long is a piece of string question, however, what would a reasonable life be for both the rotor arm & diz cap?

Lets assume they are OE quality parts and not cheaper aftermarket nasties. I know I change mine every 3-4 years but with OE parts becoming harder to source I may be binning them prematurely. Personally I like to keep on top of all my maintenance so I can enjoy the car fully & with minimal reliability issues probably overkill on many items, and these parts always 'look' oaky when I change them but I guess the materials weaken overtime & theres more to it than visual appearance.

So whats the norm or recommended intervals?

Good quality caps and rotors will always be available so I would not worry too much. Every couple of years would be the norm, just inspect regularly for signs of wear.
