Do you realise just how old that engine is? I know I'm a fan of the LS engines but that's just about as old as you can get.

The block and crank are with Roland at ACR near Chester.
A new liner to be fitted. A rebore to 96mm. Offset grind the crank to 86.3mm. Chevy rods and a nice set of custom forged pistons.

I am going to fit a new M248 cam and solid lifters too.

Sounds like a plan Derek.

How exactly does this offset grinding work. I understand how they grind it to increase the stroke slightly but surely this leaves the journal smaller in size. Are the Chevy rods smaller diameter than the Rover items or what. If they are not how do they match the rods to the now smaller crank journal.

Yes the big ends are taken down a size. Still plenty strong enough even for my plans

Real steel don't stock the 248 anymore may have to settle for the 238.

Probably gone away, just a one man band iirc.

If Alex still has the info on my bespoke cam he designed which was really good, kent or whoever will knock one up.

I get my block back next week and hope to be having it running and ready to race at York on 5th. I am sure I can run more nitrous and give you a great race Neal.
