Simple job to change as long as you have the key that fits it.pulls out of the housing and then insert new barrel, just need to put the key to position 2 and insert a pin or drill bit into a small hole on the housing that releases a spring loaded latch.
Just faffed with the one on my Tuscan...after putting in new carpets.Tuscan key barrel is from Astra Mk.4. Lots of stuff on Vauxhall forums/youtube regarding fitting/renewal.
As rigga advises - key to Position II, insert 'pick'/drill bit/wire into hole on barrel housing and pull on key to withdraw barrel/actual lock from housing. Crucial part in re-fitting is to ensure steering lock 'PIN/SLUG' has not dropped/engaged - this prevents barrel internals from going completely 'home'.
Re-insertion is the reverse - key to pos'n II, insert your wire/drill bit/pick and push barrel into housing.
