Evening all.
I think it's time to replace my alarm, are there any good replacements that anyone can recommend? I don't want it chirping and flashing lights every 5 seconds or when I lock it, similar to standard really but just not 18 year old poorly installed tech this time please!
Any suggestions?

Here you go.

He is highly regarded for his work. I'll be booking mine in over the next couple of months when he's in the country.thumbup

Yeah I know Carl from a few years back, he did lots of work for Fernhurst when I was there and fitted a lovely set of mb quarts to my 3 series soft top at the time.
I don't really want to stick with the meta stuff, is there anything else out there to consider?

These are good quality systems if you can fit yourself.

Mine came with a Clifford Concept Mk2 Alarm. Fitted by a specialist and came with a documentation certifying correct installation to satisfy the insurance company. Is also configured to open the boot.
Had no problems with it since I bought the car 18 months ago.

Another vote for Carl. Great installation which includes a remote boot release & hot start cure. Fit & forget.

And another vote for Carl.

I had my Meta alarm/immobilizer replaced earlier this year which included remote boot release and his version of the hot start mod. He also spends time checking other known wiring issues whilst he has the dash top lifted - in my case found a permanently live wire not terminated with no fuse, at risk of touching the back of the stereo casing!

Just had mine re-programmed at Abacus car alarms, sent the unit off on Monday and got it back today, £139 inc 2 new fobs . Good value I thought, fitted it tonight and all working ok
