I thought the gearbox was different. The Diff is also different. The engines were also serp not preserp. I might be wrong though.

Early cars had the LT77 box and the pre serp engine and I think different cooling hose layout plus other aspects I am sure, lower grill, access panels etc

Were these the original engine and gearbox ? if so it just proves nothing should be taken as gospel in the TVR world.

Yep
There's that many different body combos from mk1/ mk2 and crossover
The LT gearbox and non serp are early mark 1

In fact, ain't no such thing as a mark one & two...they evolved through numerous small transitions

^This

Mine is a '94 with Pre-serp, T5 gearbox and key holes in the door button. Must have been one of the last few made pre-serp.

So by 96 a chim should be serp, with updated diff and gearbox, but older body style? Or is it still the case that it could be made of what ever was lying about in Blackpool???

Another small change is the otter switch location - in the bottom of the swirl pot on earlier cars, on the back of the radiator on later cars.

Very early cars had no power steering IIRC, and the inside door knob was by the gear lever, not further back.

Wiper motor location is different too, and earlier cars had 240mm front brakes, later 260mm

If I have repeated stuff that's above, then sorry, but as you know you cannot see it once you start tryping

It should be serp engine (longer, grooved aux belt vs shorter V belt on pre-serps), T5 box, BTR diff, mark one front and rear ends, with fiesta rear lights (later ones, 98/9 on, are 4 single lights behind smoked perspex each side, and are landrover), earlier dash layout I think.

The rare tow-bar and roof rails were optional extras on later cars for customers who had spotted the Landrover rear lights and were on their way to Specsaverswhistle
