Double wink. The Merc SOHC almost certainly would. And it would sound like a Spitfire!

Would that connect to the T5?

I firstly thought it was a rover 5.0 with supercharger...but its not, so I don't know how big it is and or if such engine is good/strong, but I guess so.
Who fabricate those engines?

Not straight out of the box. The chap who has done a Cerb conversion just cut the front off the bell housing and welded the Merc box front on. I'm sure there is spline work also. But seeing as they are seriously robust engines and dirt cheap it doesn't seem a great hurdle.

I'm fitting one to one of my Rangies to replace the Rover V8.

A measure up would be interesting, especially with exhaust manifolds in place, as exhaust position and size be an issue with engines in the Chimaera/Griff

Have I missed something here,,,, AJP,,, flat plain crank tech etc, ( lower centre of gravity )
Why do we discount this engine,, I'll be honest I don't know much about them,, other than it cost a bank robbery to pay for engine parts,, is that true?

Mechanical tappers are a pain so I heard once?
What's the most power you could get from the AJP and still keep it almost legal?

I think I've just answered my own question, to expensive to fragile and not that powerful in modern terms!

I'd love to see how well a Chim could go with a full on AJP engine installed, I'm thinking balance and power! I've just realised ,, I've just invented the Tuscan race car biglaugh

Not sure there are enough to keep the Cerbs going. Let alone fitting to another model.

biglaugh arrh, there's a problem right there,

I've seen an MGB with a 4.0 RV race engine with a flat plain crank,,, that produced about 420 bhp
I think it produced about 30 lbs ft of torque though, screamed at over 7500 revs,,,
Set lap records around Brandshatch Indy as I was watching,, low 52's around there is going some!
Slicks etc but it was the power,,, so fast on acceleration and able to keep high revs for the turns,
That engine in a Chimaera would be some thrill.

For a change why not a straight six? How about a twin turbo six with 420bhp (already modded to over 520bhp) and 406 lbs/ft torque at just 1850rpm. This is a baby 3 litre too. smokin
And anyone saying that turbos diminish the exhaust sound listen to this modified one. cool

351 windsor engine is a 'medium block' not small or big block size so it would be a lot tighter and would need the exhaust running forward like they do now.
Strokes and bores to 7 liters i think
