A little update.
My car should be up and running by this Saturday, Ecu installation, baffled sump, starter button, a few electrical gremlins, Mot, etc
There's an issue with the rolling road, needs a new part, so I'll have the car for a week or so on a base map.
I'm having a clutch etc but can't be sure if that's this week.

Dons got some nice digital geo equipment so once I've decided what shocks to go for ill have them put on and a full geo set up done so I'll be going back anyway.
I like it when a plan starts coming together smile

Thought that might prick your ears up Peter. It's just a demonstration (but timed) event at a local airfield as part of a much bigger air & car show called Pistons & Props at Sywell Aerodrome. It's a good day out for the family, made affordable by showing a car, it's where TVRCC Northants have their monthly meetings so get invited to put a few cars on show in return for free entry. I decided earlier this year to enter the sprint event as well to make things a bit more interesting and had to commit early, just hope car is all sorted in time scratchchin

Also hope the MSA don't take too long as will need my licence by then as well.

It's only really a blast up a taxiway & runway so, don't worry it isn't practice for next year biggrin

I will next year.

That is funny, pistons and props. Our local show at Dunsfold aerodrome is called wings and wheels and is on August bank holiday.

A really good show if anyone is in the area.

Hi have been reading your thread and was curious when it mentioned speed transducer, did a bit of searching to find out more but couldn't get any more information. Do you know where I could find some more information please?

Try putting the word "transducer" into the search at the top of the thread. Loads of threads to look at.
I think it refers to the little gizmo that sits close to the diff (gap needs to be correct) and detects the speed of the drive shaft . This message is then transmitted via a wire that comes up into the car under the little triangle where you keep your sunglasses, house keys and loose change, runs along under the centre console, into the dash and into a speedo conversion box, which converts the signal so that the speedo reads correctly. I have a feeling that it also tells the ECU that the car is moving so that the engine doesn't die during gear changes. You know, the gear changes where you cannot find the next gear in under 5 seconds.....a T5 speciality! whistle

what I was meaning, is that I didn't realise that these after market ECU's incorporated speedo or is it just MBE? Am I right in thinking that MBE is fitted to later TVR's? I tried the search but it isn't working as well as it used to. I was looking at the canems kit and was wanting to do a bit of research but can't seem to find any information

Quite possibly.

Always seems to happen to me when changing down from 5th to 4th on a dual carnageway to overtake briskly. I sit there in neutral at 60mph, trying to get the ruddy thing into 4th, looking a total cock.....

Nothing new there, I hear you think. yes

Sounds like a box problem A.

Neither of my T5s had that problem.

Probably not what you want to hear!

It's an odd one. Far from every time, just happens occasionally. The most frequent being when I have been sitting at 55.99999999999 mph for ever on a 2 lane motorway or dual carriage way, waiting for the 18-wheeled wker in front of me to finish his 14 mile overtake of a similar 18-wheeled wker, both of them on the limiter, neither willing to give up the place. Obviously never listened to a track day briefing (I was going to say "been to", but realised that wasn't quite correct).

I go for a slick change down to storm past and show my frustration, and the bd won't go into gear!!!
Always works fine at their times, both directions, so I don't think it is my Royal Purple Synchro Max destroying the paper lined synchros of the Wakefield Class T5 gearbox ( I call mine Wakefield Class, not World Class, because it seems to have been designed and manufactured at the heart of the rhubarb triangle). hehe

Mine use to do this after I sat at those speeds on the M20 for 20 minutes or more was the rose bush on top of the gear box extension dry as a bone wink its housed in a plastic cup so can only assume it was restricting the ball whistle never done it since and all I did was fire some motorcycle chain lube at it that was years ago now and the box probably done about 25k since, it scared the crap out of me when it 1st did it frown I feared a selector roll pin or similar had sheared initially, soon as get that 1st selection the box is like ...... whats wrong I am fine frown ..... yeh till the next time, youll need to lower the exhaust then just squirt up spray grease or similar better from above though cool got to be worth a try or mention next time your in for service mine did it about 3 or 4 times before the above and never since biggrin

Thanks Simon. I will add that to the list when the car goes in for it's next fettling.
I only have a vague idea where the gearbox is, never mind the selector rose joint, and I don't have a 2 post lift in my (non-existant) garage to help me get underneath the car, unlike our well-equipped mutual friend.
