I adore the rev counter being up front and taking prominence before the speedo,
To many things to list here but ignition key relocation etc bar ends etc,

Iconic engine 360' parallel twin,, has a Hyde Alloy bell mouth smile

Richard, I've looked at loads of old stuff but can't be arsed with all the fiddling but it was a Norton Commando that inspired my love of bikes as a kid,,, early 70's and a bloke re built one near me,,

Matt, it was built in 2009,,,, not quite the year I was born but then I do have the mental age of a 6 year old laugh

As some people might know,, I'm into polishing stuff,,,it's sort of a hobby,,

I have a few mates who all raced bikes as kids and were all getting back on bikes!!!!
I've said no for about 20 years but this bike is a bit special, I don't need to be on a super fast bike,

I don't like riding in the rain either so this is just the thing for sunny rides and cups of tea at cafe's.
It's a life style thing maybe,,

I like the lazy handling etc, it's a 900cc so not exactly slow,,

It reminds me of all the old race bikes I grew up around,

It'll do smile

Morning Peter,,, it's hard to find a damn mark on it! Increasable, I've had the seat and panels off it, spotless.
It's never been wet as far as I can tell,,

It's so loud too,,, it's got the perfect sound track,
I've been looking at these Thruxton's for a few years and they don't quite do it for me,,,
But this has been done to a very high standard and totally looked and goes the part,

I've got a mad crash hat too smile retro leather Jacket and boots that look more like work boots hehe

I've gone full circle and back to my roots.

Anyway ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
The ecu installation
That's going to be weeks away, I never booked mine in, just dropped it off so it will be done when they have time.
Long list of things for them to do so Richard yours will probably be done before Mine.

I look at this bike and can't help but think Tvr could have built great cars
This is everything old with everything important modern, feels brand new,5800 miles on the clock
I've not got a licence yet yikes but had a spin around our private lane wink
It felt proper old school, but the brakes nearly threw me over the bars,,, it evokes the bikes I learnt to ride,
It does feel heavy but I kinda like that too.

I've just checked,,, it's also got a 43 toothed rear cog, standard 41 so accelerates faster.

I think it feels quick but then I hav'nt ridden anything proper fast for years.

I've already looked at big bore kits, bigger carbs, that can wait awhile, so I've got a stainless steel oil cooler mesh and a engine stone and Alley chain guard coming smile

A bike like this can go for years without much effort.

If I had my time again with Tvr I would have done this,,, buy one that someone else has lavished and pained over,,,
This bike I can just get on and go,,, awesome. smile

Ace helmet, iconic British engine, it's all going on hehe

It's about time I did the jungle behind the bike. smile

I've got my CBT on Tuesday?
I've practiced the theory test and failed twice! Maybe this isn't such a good idea hehe

The thing is I have piles of drum kits that I've also collected over the years lying about doing nothing,,,
I can't quite give the drums up so I have a cool Roland electric kit I can bash about on but al my very nice drums are going up for sale,,, sad to loose them but it's time!

Drums and machines are one and the same thing, mechanical, need fettling and fine tuning to get the best out of them and they all make very loud noises. smile

Nothing to be sorry about, it'll take me until the summers over to get a licence!

I've always thought I should take my test but a bike has never come along that's really had me wanting too get on the road but now I'm booking my self up furiously smile
I had race licences but never fancied a bike on the road.

Yes it's a bit daft to get the bike Before the licence but this way I'll def do it!
I can also fettle and add a few things to it,

I've needed a bike in my life for ages now, smile

This things nice and easy to understand and simple to work on.

I'd only spend the money on Holidays so I thought I'd invest in this instead, TT will be my holiday on the bike smile

Hopefully the car will be as smooth as this little sweet baby wink

A wonderful moment happened,,, I removed the chain guard and both retaining screws had copper slip on them, respect to the chap who built my bike. yes

As I've said previously my car is in a que so I've been getting to know this piece of modern art,,,

I can look at it for hours hehe

Did you see the E Type starter button hehe
I'd left my car at a mates place for a couple or three weeks,, bloody filthy!

I thought the time scale for yours was a bit optimistic ! frown

Mine might be ready by sept !! Joke,,,, hopefully it'll be a bit before then.

So a rebuilds on the cards then Richard.
Mine might be done before yours then,,,, if it is I'll pop over and let you have a look see and a drive out to see how it performs.

I'm mostly at my mums at the mo ( no internet )

I think they might be starting my installation late next week,
I'm expecting pics so for anyone else considering moving on from the disi then I'll post them as and when they arrive.
Can't freaking wait smile

Hi Swanny, gains, mostly more reliability and better fuelling at any revs, ditch the stepper and all those other little wiring gremlins that show up from time to time. Maybe better fuelling at the top end but I'm not expecting massive power or economy gains but it should be more responsive etc. clean wiring and better connections and a new main power lead to starter are also part of my deal, only time will tell but I'm very confident this will be the last time for some years I'll be thinking about fuelling or ignition issues.

I'll keep everyone posted smile

This is the key weakness on any standard Chimaera.
Your engine mapped throughout the Rev range very accurately to the characteristics of your motor is pleasing, somehow I can't ever see myself regretting this decision, money will go somewhere else and disappear so this keeps the car and my money close to my chest hehe

My car is more than fast enough so I want it to run like a modern car too. I like tinkering but chasing ignition/fuelling issues is something I want to eradicate as its annoying and stupid on a car as good as these smile

Without going the whole hog with a massive bore out or FI then I can't go much further with my girl,
Maybe in the future but it's about time I just drove it about and get to some meets to say hello!

I'll re ferb those wheels of yours soon enough Peter driving

All systems go, I've just received the first pics of my old wiring removal and dash off for the Mbe speedo transducer etc. plenum removal, fuel rail etc.

As can be seen by the bucket shot, my old wiring is actually in excellent condition

No extra maps just a really good one!
I've agonised for weeks and eventually bottled it ......

I basically have a hearing issue with my left ear, de cat my ear drum can't take it,,, ear plugs,, I don't think so, so I'm having my standard Y piece fitted, I can hear you all sigh in dis belief

Mapped as a standard car almost!

I still have de cat pipe and might still buy a Clive Y and re map to suit, but I don't really drive that fast so I'd rather enjoy my car and not feel a tit cos it's so loud, my cars never going to be that fast so for the sake of a few horses I'd rather have my car running sweet and a sound I love. The original harmonics are subtle but very good to my ear and that matters cos most the time I'm going slow enough to hear it hehe

I'll be having all my old bits back Simon, wink I'll put it all up for sale sometime so if anyone wants a loom, Ecu etc
Sod polishing it Graham I'd just like it all to work for awhile.
I've just polished this to within an inch of its life,,,,, this polishing lark,,, I do enjoy it but it's now so clean I'll not want to ride it if there's a faint cloud in the sky! hehe

Pics a bit naff!

Bikes are my first love, I put to much emphasis on the Tvr to be too many things,,, I love it to bits just like this bike,
I often get stressed over my car especially when it's in bits,,,, not this time, the cars in very safe hands, I'm asking a lot of Dom for the money I've agreed,,, I keep adding stuff to do, he knows I'm a boy from the streets so he's very kind to me. Hint hint laugh
That emplies I'm getting it cheap, for what's being done to this car it's a very reasonable price really, just look at the work that has to be done for the Ecu installation alone smile

Hopefully this is a better pic, right now ill concentrate on the car.

But before I do I've had this bike half in bits already, tank off, etc, re mounted rear light cluster, adjusted and loctited fairing bolts and an oil with chrome filter change! Added a few bits here and there like oil temp gauge, stone guards shiny choke knob, clock. This is the standard my cars going to have to get to, subtle but cool
