Yes will be at Castle Combe, looking forward to it and will be good to catch up
I think the best thing about TVR ownership is some of the awesome people I have met, people who are always up for a chat, willing to help out, loan things, offer advise all without expecting anything back in return, very unlike the real world.
I second that Mat.
I'd have cracked within months of ownership if I had' nt found Pistonheads and all you amazing chaps who have slowly educated me, it's a joy to own a Tvr simply for what I've learned and the great honesty we all share about these great cars.
It's also a disaster of a place for my finances I get caught up in all the ideas and upgrades and blow me has it made me get my car in order.

"I'm so dizzy my head is spinning"
Just some good news regarding my out riggers,,,,
There good. WOW,,,,
So that allows more room for MODS,,,, even more head spinning
I'm not going far on the engine,,, I need better than 15 mpg. It's my choice as I enjoy my car on many levels.
Brakes, hubs,,, maybe?
Shocks at some point, Tyres
I might even treat myself to a stereo,
I'll go retro on the stereo,,, it's not like I can hear it anyway
It's not often you have the chance to do what I'm doing,,,finance is always an issue for all of us in life,,
When Alls said and done I'd either do it over a few years or all at once then enjoy the car, whilst I recover my Health and bank balance
I will be receiving photos of the Ecu install so I'll post them up as I get them.

Great news Alan. not needing new outriggers must be the same as a 50% discount on this now: http://www.powersperformance.co.uk/upgrades/rv8-tu...
That's the second time you've suckered me into checking that out....
Don't man,,,, please man,,,, I implore you to stop feeding my habit.
Yeah it looks really good doesn't it Graham.
No that's cheating in my book ,,,,,wait there???? I was at Cadwell yesterday and the most entertaining car was a tiny old yellow Renault 5 with a turbo,,, over the mountain the pops and bangs,, proper quick,,,
Went and had a look at it in the pits,,, tiny engine, tiny turbo
It Went like a wild animal shouting a lot,, so cool.. Mmm, you never know,,,,
Watch this space. !
How difficult is it for an average spanner monkey to fit that turbo kit?
Is it full of cheap Chinese bits? I believe Pupp put together his own (but had to have a lot of parts engineered) but used quality US parts for a similar sort of price IIRC. Don't think I have hos depth of knowledge or the patience to be able to do that though
The Power kits:
Supply and install Turbo Kit wth MBE Ecu £5495.00 + vat = £6594
Supply DIY kits £2750.00 + vat = £3300
£3,300 and some enjoyable time in the garage ending with a sense of satisfaction and a faster car sounds like a good deal.

Every time someone brings this up I have doubts!
Doubts as to whether or not I keep my car "standard" or give in to the urge………………..
I shouldn't really but as winter draws near
Yes me too. I`m really struggling with this one. Doubts as to whether or not I keep my car "standard" or give in to the urge………………..

Just as i put the thoughts to bed, some cruel person sparks them off again.
I'm not listening anymore,,,,,
Yeah with the rolling road available at Doms you can do anything just about!
The whole problem is you can never ever ever have to much power,,,
So where does it stop other than because the cranks fallen off!
Nah, I can rattle my car around and live with it's 90's level of power for awhile longer

One thing that has just struck me,,,
Without a turbo my gearbox and Dif have just let out a sigh of relief!

Every year, sometimes twice a year, we go through this...... I have come to the conclusion it is no longer a matter of 'should I', or 'I shouldn't really'.... You and I both know this has an inevitability about it that cannot be argued..... The only question to be asked is who will be first... You? Me?.. or maybe carsy Doubts as to whether or not I keep my car "standard" or give in to the urge………………..

I have a stumbling block,,, my kids already think I'm spending their inheritance on the car,
They'd be right about that,,,, :hehe
So I'm thinking about years down the line and it's an old sportscar by then,,, original concept car will be worth ten times more than a turbo car,,,
I may be wrong but when I'm off this mortal coil then I suppose the kids can then enjoy or sell the car.
I don't need a turbo cos I'm already getting slower ,,,
But you Richard now I think you need to be the one pushing 500 hp
Actually your engine is one of the best so you'd ruin it with FI if you ask me.

I considered doing the conversion myself (tight git) but it isn't that simple. Cutting the chassis rail and making a new part would have meant using an engineering place for me. The wiring and other fittings probably not too bad. Cutting large holes in the inner wings might put some off the DIY route. Is it full of cheap Chinese bits? So heart ruled head and I let Dom do it. Chinese parts? Eeek!!! Don't let Dom hear you say that.....
Word of caution. If you do decide to go this way, you really have to ensure the engine is in a good state as any part worn bearings are going to surrender in short time. And no wear on the cam either...
Picture 3 shows the replacement part for the chassis rail with the cut out for the diddly little turbo.
So, ClassiChimi, what are you waiting for?

That's a very nice job,
I like the N/A induction roar,,, I'm worried I wouldn't like the sound of the car anymore,,
I'm standing firm on this one, for now anyway.
Mine still burbles and I am told it is quite loud. I live at number 1 and the builders are working on number 15. When I start up they all come out. I like the N/A induction roar,,, I'm worried I wouldn't like the sound of the car anymore,,

And I have amended the last line for you.
