Depends.

I'd fit this as I hopefully only fit once.

Airtex ECP are an outlet and they are an OE brand Gary failing that it's using someone like Famous Four specialist etc. EBay I am not to sure about with the white box brands , Its what I would be fitting http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/water-pump-1994-airtex...

Ok, thanks... having just fitted a new steering pump and refilled/bled etc, and still having a bloody infuriating ZizzzZzing noise (just like a failing steering pump in fact), looks like the watter pump will be next rolleyes

'spect it's the alternator really...

fked water pump bearing or alt should be easy to diagnosis with the belt off Gary just by rotating by hand or if your lazy using a stephoscope, bearing noises are always easy to identify with these, not teaching you how to suck eggs and am sure you have things bagged.

Are you sure it's not the idler bearing? Cheaper and easier to replace. smile

laugh It would need to be a pretty good ventriloquist as it's in a box of discarded crap in the workshop and not on the engine (JE alt bracket = idler delete)

Simon is quite right of course, I made the mistake of assuming it was the PAS pump as the noise was changing with steering inputs and seemed to be coming from that direction... I'll stethoscope it in a minute and I might even take the belt off too. Doh!

Deffo the PAS pump... Dr Stethoscope confirms with no beltectomy needed

Maybe a tad quieter after running a while and lots of steering jiggling. Hopefully it'll settle down
