My rear view mirror is peeling so I'd like to replace it ... thing is, although I can get the mirror off the plastic carrier that is stuck to the windscreen I can't get the plastic carrier off the windscreen to fasten on a replacement mirror.

Anyone got any suggestions as to how to get the damn thing off? frown

I think that bottom bit is bonded to the screen. You won't get it off. If your mirror was wobbly like mine because the attachment clip was broken, you need this:

Annoyingly, I paid £5.50 for mine in May. frown

This bit should just slide off.

Unfortunately mine isn't wobbly - the mirrored layer is delaminating from the 'glass' which makes it less than ideal and rather crappy looking...

So is it a 205 mirror then? If so I'll just see if I can find a complete 205 mirror in good nick. smile

Are you able to post a picture up of the bit you mean?

Most mirror bosses will slide off, and some will need a bit of persuasion in the right place.
