Quick update I've been meaning to add to this post.
Footman James have given me an agreed valuation of £25,000 for my car.
After submitting the form no pictures or receipts were asked for and no further questions asked.
Possibly should have asked more laugh

RHClassic (https://www.rhspecialistinsurance.co.uk/classic-car-insurance) are well worth a look if it's over 20 years old and garaged. They do something called Cherished Salvage which means that if they write-off the car they give your the agreed value AND the salvage - particularly nice for TVRs where a lot of insurers will write them off for fairly trivial bodywork damage. Also includes full UK & European recovery.

I have the same deal with Footman James in the case of a write off for £10 a year on my policy.
As much as I never want it to happen, the thought of it has a good feeling knowing that no matter what happens I will always be the one to decide what's best for my car.

Has anyone with a Mannings policy had to increase their premium when changing to Agreed Value?

Renewed recently with Manning. Without prompting they advised I up the estimated value to £20k and suggested an Agreed Value policy would be a good idea.
No increase in premium up to an agreed value of £30k but they require a written valuation from a TVR specialist (eg TVR Power) and some pictures. I'll get the valuation done next time it's in for work as I was told you can add it to your existing policy whenever.

Also used Footman James for the same deal. Valued mine at £15k after full refurb. Think I will up it next time around.

Looking at your profile it looks like you've done the exact same restoration as I have so I don't think you will have any issues getting 25k agreed as I did.

I think we all under value our cars. Not long ago I remember someone (not sure who) was selling a Chimaera for 30k and was ripped apart at the thought of it.
Why not let these things play out ?
If that sells for 30k, why not more at that price ?

I know what time and money I spent on my car last year bringing her back to A1 condition and I really don't think I'd sell her for less than 30k.

Just my view and opinion.

If they don't charge any extra then it seems like a no-brainer to go for Agreed Value. Thanks for the advice.
