I am considering upgrading my fuel system.

Any recommendations on a surge tank set up?
I am currently looking at a surge tank with inbuilt walbro pump and to use the 044 as the lifter pump. I also am thinking of refitting the original fuel pump on a second tank outlet to feed the nitrous system independently.

I went for a new build tank, this has a walbro in tank pump ( no need for a lifter ) and a built in swirl pot in the tank, keeps the install all simples

Hey Neal where did you buy all the fittings and tank etc?

I need help in designing my set up. I asked Mac for your email.

But this is probably the easiest thing to do

Some of us are only generating modest track-day style G forces, rather than Derek's mega-santa-pod-acceleration-off-the-line G forces. However, we are still suffering fuel starvation on left hand bends when below 1/3 tank, so while we have Neal, Nigel and Alex on thread, is there a simple and cheap solution to this standard Chimaera issue of all the fuel one side, pump the other??

My present solution is fill up before it has gone below 1/3rd tank, so i am not looking at spending much (sorry).

Forget the gas bit and take another look at my petrol setup Anthony, when I first ran my high mounted petrol tank I too had fuel starvation issues when corning on petrol.

The Lloyd boys gave me the current setup of twin low mounted swirl pots, actually to call them swirl pots is a bit misleading as they are merely vessels to make sure there is always a good 1.5lt header of petrol available at the lowest point in the boot when cornering hard. Because there's one vessel on each side of the car and they are both always more or less full, it doesn't matter a jot if your chucking it hard into a left or right hander the result is the same - zero starvation!

The system works brilliantly, and I can see it working just as well for others that have track day starvation issues with the standard tank.

To be honest, if it works on my crazy "petrol up in the sky" system it shouldn't have any trouble solving a starvation problem on a standard tank setup.

Pump wise I just use a genuine Bosch one that were fitted to Cerberas, Porsche 928's and the like, it's probably good for well over 400 hhorsepwer if the truth be known so isn't really taxed on 'Ol Gasbag'. Even with a blower I'm confident my fuel system can stay as is, with the exception of some bigger injectors mind you.

You would only need this one Peter, one pump does around 550-650 bhp

Thanks, Dave. A buffer in the system (in my case, an old buffer!) would be a good answer.

That won` work on astandard petrol tank unless there is a pump.

Anyone thought about just making a new outlet in the middle of the tank or make a well in the bottom of the tank ..

Doeshe two pipes coming out the vessels join together with a tee piece ?
