Advice for selling?
Discussion
I am going to put my Chim up for sale in the next few weeks....but I have been saying that for a while!
Having had it for around 7 years, it is going to be a difficult parting but things have changed with 2 young children. Its not practical and I don't have a barn to keep it in...or I would
Perhaps someone can give me some advise on selling
- Where do most people have greatest success selling?
- How do I avoid tyre kickers?
- What do people do about test drives?
-
I am going to MOT and service it in the next week and then market it. The TVR market seems a little slower in Scotland then down south?
Any advice would be greatfully appreciated.
Cheers

Sorry, vehicle valuation requests are not allowed.

Here and ebay seem to be the main 2 for selling, i like to see detailed photos of the car including the underneath in several areas, it shows you care a bit more.
People who spend a bit more time on an honest description and no bs are generally genuine.
Test drives are a bit of a grey area as most owners are cautious for obvious reasons, i didnt drive mine as i knew i had found a reasonably good one and a passenger ride was enough.

When I was looking I too looked on here and eBay.
You could ask for them to cover the car on day insure or similar. I viewed 4 privately. One chap took me out and drove like a tt, another let me drive on trust but it broke down near his house on the way back. I also drove one at furnhurst and Topcats which was the car I brought. It was so well sorted and felt just right. I knew it was the one to have.
It's your car so don't do anything that you feel uncomfortable with. Good luck.
