I am going to put my Chim up for sale in the next few weeks....but I have been saying that for a while!

Having had it for around 7 years, it is going to be a difficult parting but things have changed with 2 young children. Its not practical and I don't have a barn to keep it in...or I would

Perhaps someone can give me some advise on selling

- Where do most people have greatest success selling?
- How do I avoid tyre kickers?
- What do people do about test drives?
- censored

I am going to MOT and service it in the next week and then market it. The TVR market seems a little slower in Scotland then down south?

Any advice would be greatfully appreciated.

Cheers

Sorry, vehicle valuation requests are not allowed.

Here and ebay seem to be the main 2 for selling, i like to see detailed photos of the car including the underneath in several areas, it shows you care a bit more.
People who spend a bit more time on an honest description and no bs are generally genuine.
Test drives are a bit of a grey area as most owners are cautious for obvious reasons, i didnt drive mine as i knew i had found a reasonably good one and a passenger ride was enough.

When I was looking I too looked on here and eBay.

You could ask for them to cover the car on day insure or similar. I viewed 4 privately. One chap took me out and drove like a tt, another let me drive on trust but it broke down near his house on the way back. I also drove one at furnhurst and Topcats which was the car I brought. It was so well sorted and felt just right. I knew it was the one to have.

It's your car so don't do anything that you feel uncomfortable with. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice.....I was going to try Autotrader but it looks like ebay is a better bet....

Will see how the MOT gets on and I have a few niggles that I want to sort.

Hi I would try selling it on Car & Classic. That's were I found mine, via a link from this website. smile I think you might get a more serious person. Less tyre kickers if you get what I mean. smile

If your on Facebook, the "TVR Chimaera Owners & Enthusiasts" or "TVR - Buy,Sell & Swap anything TVR Related" Groups thetre are generally somone looking to buy, if not you will have people who know are looking for one swell and will let them know one is for sale.
