Hi all,

Its time to fit another set of brake pads to my 1996 4.0HC Chimaera so I thought this may help someone?

I've created this Wiki to cover the brake pads used on the Mk2 Chimaera that has 260mm vented front discs and 273mm vented rear discs.

IMPORTANT - these pads will not fit the early Mk1 Chimaera that uses 240mm front discs and solid rear discs

The pads I'm presenting here are from the well respected German manufacturer Pagid, they are road spec pads that work from cold, do not sequel, and make very little dust.

If you are looking for a track day pad please look elsewhere, people should be aware track day pads may work better on a track but in all other driving conditions they will inevitably come with one or more compromises and may not suit a normal road use requirement due to dust, squealing and a dangerous lack of bite when cold.

This Wiki is not intended to open a debate about the merits and demerits of different brands of brake pads, I have created it to help people who want a quality cost effective standard road pad that works, I have no connection with either Pagid or Euro Car Parts Ltd

I have personally completed many thousands of spirited road miles on these Pagid pads and have chosen to renew with the same. As already stated I can confirm they wear well, are very low dust, do not sequel and operate perfectly in real world braking situations straight from cold including fast descents of the Alps and other European mountain ranges.

These are a quality E marked German made pad and when purchased through Euro Car parts come with a 25 Month/25,000 Mile guarantee against defects in materials and or manufacturing.

I hope the Wiki helps make buying your next set of brake pads a little easier and cheaper without the need to compromise on quality or safety?
