Just thought I'd say hi to the Chimaera forum as I've just become an owner of a 1995 4.0. I live in Chelmsford but rarely see any TVRs around here though.
From new was the Chimaera supplied with a jack and spare wheel? Mine has a space saver wheel but no jack. What do other forumites do?

Hello and welcome to the mad house of TVR ownership. Its a lovely place biggrin

For your question about jacks.... I use one of these Racing Jack and drive the car on some thick planks so I have some ground clearance.

Welcome to the group.

I think that the spare was an option and was a space saver in any case. I've got one but it's never in the car as without the jack it's nigh on useless.

I've not heard of a TVR jack. Most car jacks wouldn't work on the Chimeara as the ground clearance is too small.

I've got one of these in the garage

I think most of us carry around a few cans of tyre sealant. (which is what I got when I bought a new RX8!)

The jack was like this;

but with a 'curved' foot to match the radius of the outrigger/chassis leg.

Exactly.
I carry 2 cans and a small compressor.

Spare wheel & jack were deleted as standard around 2000 ish on Chimaera. (were still an option though)

I seem to remember moving mine over from the older car

Welcome to the forum - I am sure you will enjoy your chim ownership!

I have a 93 Chim, has a spare - no jack. How I bought it a few years ago....

Thanks for the welcome! I do hope I enjoy this ownership. I lost sleep once I'd agreed to the purchase. It's too easy to read about horror stories. I'm now calmer as I haven't found anything too terrible yet.

Welcome.

Have a look at The Hare breakfast club as well, only in Writtle, I've been a couple of times myself and it's worth going for the variety.(assuming you haven't already been)
