Start from the wheel that is furthest away and work forward.

Don't forget the bleed nipple on the master, a bit of a pig!

I drilled a hole through the inner wing above it, used a 1/4" drive ratchet and socket and plugged the hole with a rubber bung.

If you were using a pressurised system like Eezi bleed would you still have to bleed air from the master cylinder as well as the callipers?

That's what I used and yes you still have to bleed the master cylinder to get the final bit of air out.

You get very little air out, but it makes all the difference to the brakes working.

Exactly.

Easier to shove a load of paper towel around the cylinder and undo as I stated before.

Note, my nipple was VERY tight and needed a lot of muscle to crack.

If your cylinder is new then it should be OK.

Did mine yesterday after fitting new discs and calipers on the front. I took the advice of others and drilled a fresh hole above the master cylinder bleed nipple. About 10mm was sufficient as you can reach underneath and connect the socket to the tee bar. A big wad of kitchen roll absorbed the fluid. Without bleeding the mc first I couldn't get any fluid to appear at the calipers.

I've owned a Chimaera and my S Series has the bleed nipple on the master cylinder but I believe it is just there to blank off a spare port?
Why would you have a bleed on just the rear circuit and it's not at the highest point where air would collect?

Never used it on either car and had no problem getting a "good pedal"

I don't know why it is there but bleeding at that point does the job.

I've previously used an easy bleed on the car and worked my way round the wheels about three times and still only had half a peddle.
I bled the master cylinder and instantly had a full pedal.

Anyone got any pics for the location of said hole - just to make it easier for others?

Best stuff for product, availability and price is Halfords Racing brake fluid.

I've used that in my cars for the last eight years.

Cheers Simon ...

I was looking for five or six litres as I was going to do my Megane at the same time and - as I'd be doing it at my mates place - make sure that there was enough to do his cars as well as a bit of a thank you for letting me use his 'facilities'... biggrin
