I am intending to ditch the extenders and will go for iridium plugs. Re the resistor/extenders is there something against using these (for example) ,

http://www.gsparkplug.com/1x-ngk-resistor-spark-pl...

plus....would I need 'socks' over them ?

comments welcome !

I think most people ditch the extenders as they are prone to failure,if you can eliminate them and lose the problem then its a bonus.
I used a set of leads similar to the ones below on an American ford v8 engine with stainless headers without issue for years, they were almost touching the headers too.
I think the standard leads probably suffer from heat issues but not so much the silicone ones, the ceramic ended ones look belt and braces though.

That's the plan
No more fking about with bits of plug in failure
At £90 there cheaper that a set of crappie extendeders and standard leads
So hopefully it's a no brainier and puts an end to the misery of the extendeders

Have to say that I'm wondering about replacing my "front mounted" Ford coil packs with the Range Rover ones that mount behind the plenum as I think the wiring would be easier and tidier ... not sure what the pros and cons of that would be.
