Hi All,

I've bought a pair of hydraulic car ramps to do a load of winter jobs. Bought them 2nd hand of fleabay and whilst the ramps are good, the foot pump is shocking and broke the lever mechanism on the second go of using. Type are similar to the pic below. I'm wanting to purchase small hand pump but my knowledge of these are very very limited. I'm thinking of a 12cc hand pump with a litre tank. I will also need an adapter T section to locate the two female Quick Release Pressure Nipples into (not sure if they are called that?) I'm assuming I need a safety valve and dump / release valve in order to be able to lower the ramps after use and not over cook the seals. I've also assumed that I can use a single valve to drive both ramps ?

Apologies , as you can see I have lots to learn, not much clue and don't want to go off half cock.

Any advice on spec and places to purchase would be really appreciated.

Cheers

Wouldn't it just be easier to repair the original pump; they're not that complex and bits are available... I do know the pressure output in them is screwed down somehow to protect the seals on the rams so using a different pump might be a bit fraught

I agree, initially that was my intention. But having looked at the very crude construction and the fact that the reason i bust the pump mech was that one of the pistons kept jamming on the pump. Wanting reliability and not having to bodge repairs every five mins makes me think a new better quality hand pump is the way to go

Cheers

There are several on this eBay listing. Some have tanks and some are up to 10 tons.
