Ok,little bit of background.......no tears please!! In June 2014 I was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given 12 weeks of life,my answer was fk that it's not getting me yet and obviously I'm still here.
With the help of some fantastic people and our marvellous NHS I have so far been patched up for lung cancer, femur cancer including a huge bit of titanium inserted in my leg, bone cancer in my shoulder,21 brain tumours (treated with an amazing bit of kit called cyber knife) and lastly at the mo bilerteral adrenal cancer, that's been a real bh!!

Last year I buggered the front of my lovely 2000 4.5 chimp and it's required a fair bit of repairs, obviously you can't just do repairs and it's been subject to plenty of upgrades as well. 4 pot calipers big discs need wishbones all round coil overs engine upgrades ecu replacement interior rebuild alloy rad etc etc etc repainted. You boys know the score!!

Unfortunately I am beginning to have to accept that physically I am finding it too hard to complete the project, I would estimate that there is probably 3 maybe 4weeks work left to do....perhaps that's well over estimate but from a labour costs point I would be working along those lines. Pretty well everything is with the car including things like new act exhaust full new interior etc,the only major cost to purchase is a new hood

Ok one thought is the car could go to someone like sportmotive (I am based in the Midlands) Not rung them but not sure if they would really fancy taking on half a job,ok work is work! and my quality in the build is good
My other thought is a contract for a good tvr bod to do it at my home,I have a fully equipped heated garage with 2post lift full led lighting rubber floored and all the tools, really nice place to work and plenty of room plus gallons of tea and a good salary!!
Any of you boys got any thoughts,I am really quite desperate to get it finished before my time is!!
Thanks
Rich

No tears as requested but sorry to hear of your situation. Presumably you still want to keep the car when completed? Or are you planning on selling it as is, to a dealer or as a finished article?
I only ask because Bigfella70 in the link here is looking for a project type car and if it was a straight sale as she stands, perhaps he might be interested?

I want to get the car back up to its former glory and better, it would break my heart to not get it finished,it's been something to concentrate my mind and has helped me thro some pretty dark times
Even if I can't physically drive it again someone else can' take me out in it but that's why there is some urgency now as I would love to drive it before it's too late

Alun,I'll give you a shout in a bit

Hi Ian, Rich is in Rugby not far from me,, were developing a plan,,,
We're going to write a list and organise people to come at specific times to get the most done.
There's no point turning up if we're missing something for example,
I'm meeting Richie on Thursday morning,
What were hoping is to Have things prepared enough so when people can offer a few days help then we can really make progress smile

Alan, I got your mail, I'll call you tomorrow.
Cheers chaps smile

Good idea Alun.

Also consider if you might need or be aided by additional tools.

I shall be waiting...

Richie has a lovely garage and most the tools you'd ever need but yes Alan, if we're doing jobs simultaneously on different corners etc then probably a good idea to bring the tools your used to using,
Peter( phased ) has also been in touch with Rich so a combined effort at just the right times will see it done.
Wiring is an issue but really it's mostly just putting things back in and getting it running,,,,
It's a really good car too, it'll be fast smile
I can't wait to get on with it thumbup
I'll call you first thing Al

Guys, getting really excited, alun has got the bit between his mouth over this and it's really gratifying to see the help being offered
As Al says it's a cracking car and will look the dogs doo da when done red ones are always the fastest!
Like I said in my first post,it's one of the things that's kept me going but time and energy march on both of which are now decreasing, can't really say much more other than a big thanks to the responses

A very grateful Rich

what a great bunch you guys are, wish you all the best for 2016!

And Rich I hope you heal up again. This might sound suspect but Ive heard from multiple sources that cannabis oil/ THC oil is something that just eats cancer cells. I lost a friend 2 years ago to the same thing as you got, but he never got the chance to test it since its illegal a lot of places

To me this is what typifies the PH Chimaera section as being the most friendly and helpful on the network.

Rich,, you me and the boys will have a lot of fun over the next few weeks,
So a number of people have offered their time to help complete Rich's project....
We shall aim to do it in a record time too smile
Tomorrow we will comprise a list of jobs and parts required to finish the car,,,
Rich has 99% of the car there so it shouldn't be much of an issue,,

It will be important at various times to then have extra pairs of hands and tech workers as and when the build requires
Prioritise the various tasks and then I'll help Richie arrange who comes when to help us get his beast running,,

I really hope we can be looking at mapping within about 10 days or so,,, ?

I'll be in touch chaps thumbup

To quote Peanuts "You're a good man, Charlie Brown".

Let me know if you need a trailer and tow car at any time to go to a mapping session, or to take the car anywhere, as that's at least something I can help with.
