Can anyone confirm that these will fit? I have been doing tons of reading and I believe they will as they seem the same body shape as the Bosch injectors sold by Mark Adams and using online calculators they should be the correct flow rate

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-42LB-Bosch-EV1-Style-F...

The car is a turbocharged 4.0 with potential to be upgraded to 4.5 in the future so I want something I don't have to upgrade again.

ETA Just realised they are copies and looking on Five-o the Green Giants have now been replaced with 42lb Blue Knights here:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8-BOSCH-42lb-Blue-Giant-...

This is getting confusing now frown

I have also found these rebuilt Red Tops which look good value and might still be big enough?

I use two sets of these, they're Astra VXR injectors rated at 470cc @ 3bar so 30cc more than the 42lb green giants. Like you I wouldn't use copies and also the remanfuactured ones wouldn't be my first choice. The Astra ones are made by Bosch and you won't need to pay any import duty.

Fantastic that looks just the ticket! thumbup

Most of the injector threads are over 5 years old now and paying £500 plus from the usual places seems excessive

I use genuine Bosch green giants and they do fit the rail and manifold well enough but the location clips, which determine the height they are held at, are a different size. The OEM ones can be modified to do the job, which is what I and others I have spoken to have done and I have had no leaks or running issues, but it would be better to have the right clips if/when a source can be found. I asked the supplier of the injectors (TRE Performance in the States), and they reckoned just dispense with them (suspect they are more familiar with applications where there is less scope for the injectors to move up and down in the sandwich). It's on the long list of things to refine but if anyone knows of a better clip or location method then I'm all ears ears

In terms of running performance, no issues at all - they have bags of headroom, even at 2.5 bar which I'm still at and seem to cope very well with low speed running too where I was concerned there might be some spray pattern or resolution difficulties given the flow capacity. No hesitation in recommending them on my experience subject to the clip aspect but do watch for cheap copies as there are many.

^ +1 Also running these with no issues (450 supercharged, 2.5 bar, 500+ bhp) but completely agree with Pupp's comments regarding the clips, they need filing down a little. Just a word of caution though, if you are sourcing a set, there are (unsurprisingly) plenty of copies about, as far as I'm aware the copyists still haven't got round to stamping the very small "B" inside the base of the injector that the genuine article has, so look for that and you should be ok.

I had no issues with the clips, I use the ones that were already there with no filing required.

Did your injectors arrive ok? I forgot to say, ideally you want to be running them at 3.0bar to get the best spray pattern. You might find tuning idle is a bit tricky otherwise. I use one of these, its the same size as the standard one so its a straight swap. the bosch part number is 0280 160 249.

These look interesting :-)

A couple of questions...

Are these a straight forward fit, any messing with clips or O rings?

Can the standard fuel pressure regulator (Original) be used or does it need upgrading?

For anyone considering the Green Giant route, can confirm Cossie clips don't fit the GG girth (despite green Bosch injectors being common in Cossie land); they are identical to ours irked

Slightly off topic..

Does anyone have any proven Bosch Green Giant injector dead times they are using. There is some info on the web..however I'd be interested in any actual running figures.

Reason for asking is I have just bought a set my the S/C Griff (I was running into duty cycle problems). I have upped the fuel pressure to 3.0..however DC is still too high.

Running Megasquirt if that helps.

Yeah they are, they use the standard clip that your orginal injectors use. I would change the o-rings as your orginals will be a bit hard by now. Check on ebay they're readily available, they're easy to change. I normally use a small smear of engine oil to help them locate in the inlet manifold.

You can and I did for a bit. However these injectors were designed to work with 3bar and greater so if you use your orginal 2.5bar regulator they won't be producing the best spray pattern that they can. I swapped my regulator to the one I've linked to above, again a straight swap for your orginal. Of course your fuelling is going to need tweaking after this.

My friend uses these and we found a wide range when searching, some said 0.6 and others 1.2ms. We settled on 1.0 in the end. He was also having DC problems but that was because his megasquirt fuelling hadn't been set to Multiply Map.

Thanks for your reply. :-) I have reserved some of these injectors and found them to be cheaper going direct to the supplier...

As for the FPR are these Bosch fixed ones more pressure stable than the adjustable?

according to extra efi, you can use the original FPR with the GGs if you disconnect / plug the vacuum hose to it. It will then run around 2.9 bar instead of variable pressure in regards to vacuum...

I'm not sure what mean when you say "...if you disconnect / plug the vacuum hose to it"
