Oil Temperature...

bks.... I did wonder why it had the probe attached to it.
I'm sure the probe can be located somewhere, it's just not as simple as we would like. It should be located in the block so that it registers heat build up prior to the thermostat opening however fitting it outside of the block offers easier solutions. I had considered fitting one of these dual gauges with the probe replacing the swirl pot cap. There should be a simple engineering solution to that option and once the thermostat opens the temperature gauge should read reasonably wellMPoxon said:
David (V8GRF) has not heard anything back from Clive (Zertec) I did give him a nudge a couple of months back... still nothing. I was going to leave it a while and then if still nothing them maybe have a chat with Tim at ACT see if he is interested in making something if I can get enough people interested.
What I have opted for at the moment as an interim solution is replacing the oil pressure gauge and temperature gauge with a cerb combined unit and putting the oil temp in the spare slot.
I did consider getting rid of the clock but as silly as it sounds I had a car without a clock once and I really missed it.
I've been "nudged" via Manila as I'm in Burma this week. I did ask S&D to create a mould for the column shroud a while back but that was forgotten then other things came and went. However, now I will seriously look into producing copies in GRP and possibly CF.What I have opted for at the moment as an interim solution is replacing the oil pressure gauge and temperature gauge with a cerb combined unit and putting the oil temp in the spare slot.

BTW I like a clock too.
