Since listing a car in the classifieds costs money, I hope they're at least a small amount out of pocket. Unless they bounced the payment to Pistonheads somehow too?

After I sold my chim, it popped up at least twice on PH and ebay worded similarly as scams'.

Price was always attractive!

Since it's a scam, they shouldn't be a pistonheads member to make the listing. Unless they stole a log-in id as well.

Well, considering I bought this car in December and it's currently sitting in my garage (on new reg plates, R391 SCF no longer searchable on DVLA) I can confirm it's a scam. I've alerted Pistonheads through the flag link on the ad, and through the Pistonheads twitter account.

Someone on the Chimaera owners group on Facebook asked about the car and if it was a good deal! Apparently whoever placed the ad is looking for someone to transfer £500 deposit to secure the car!

I've spoken to the Police about it, who have directed me two Action Fraud. I'll be contacting them when they reopen after the weekend.

Hopefully no-one falls for this before the ad is removed.

I've reported it through the Report link on the ad itself, and sent a couple of tweets to the PistonHeads twitter account but have heard nothing back. Quite disappointed to see the Ad is still live.
