Currently running 10.6, want to be around 9.... I'm thinking Real Steal? take my rods and pistons (H beam rods) to ensure correct match... Will get bores honed, other usual's for a rebuild... Haven't checked forged piston prices yet but guessing it won't be cheap...

Help and opinions welcomed....

I think v8tuner have omega pistons... need a full rebalance of course

You could also grind out some cc's from the heads.... a 10-1 engine could easily run a turbo, just 5 psi boost

John Eales stocks all sorts of pistons. Give him a call.

If doing it properly it will need a re balance as already said which he can also do.

Be careful to check if;
cast/forged
Clearances especially if forged as typically two types of material are used which expand at differing rates [I learned this the hard way]
Are you just honing? or going top-hat? [if not already you could have pistons/bore/finish hone to exact requirements].
I wouldn't use 'total seal rings' as the usual 2nd ring being gapless can cause top ring float.
AIMHO of course.

I wouldn't use 'total seal rings' as the usual 2nd ring being gapless doesn't make sense.

Thicker gaskets or grind off inside the heads, 5 psi boost, water/methanol injection to stop any signs of detonation

I know but it's still an outrage,, smile old Chillman chugged through Snetterton pits one Race weekend when all I'd been hearing was Mazda engines buzzing about,,, went to try and find a part to keep a Tvr racing if I recall correctly,, it was a joyous noise to behold, I love his air box too, mad to touch it if you ask me. biglaugh
