A list of high power batteries that are known to fit in the Cerbera engine bay as replacement batteries (as I'm replacing mine and need a new high CCA one!). This should be a WiKi article so all able to edit, and I will add an Excel spreadsheet that can be used to generate updates

BTW this is a WiKi article, so I think everyone should be able to edit it

Therefore please feel free to add in other batteries that work - saves another 10 'What Battery?' threads each Winter!

And sharing a quick fail - this Varta E12 doesn't really fit as the scuttle won't fit over the top, so went off to the better half's car wink

The varta above is under £70 delivered. It's shorter than the oem battery and has the right terminals set up. It's a pretty good cca.

I have a Odyssey PC1500 in the Cerb, fitted back in 2009 and still going. The standard battery clamp is gone (fell apart) and it just sneaks in, you couldn't fit it with the standard clamp in place though.

Note: tvr-parts won't deliver batteries, they are too hazardous to transport according to their website. Strange considering every car on the road has one.

Have ordered the Varta D39, £69.51 all in.

The Banner Uni Bull 50 300 fits. I'll start a separate thread on fitting the battery as I have a few questions on mounting and don't want to clog this thread.

Banner Uni Bull 50 300
Capacity K20 (Ah) 69
Cold discharge test current EN (A) 520
Layout 0+1
Terminal 1+19
Max. length (mm) 241
Max. width (mm) 175
Max. box height (mm) 190
Max. total height (mm) 190
Base hold-down B01/13

This was what was fitted when I got the car.

On needing a replacement I was supplied the Exide Premium EA612 Carbon Boost 61Ah 12v Type 075
but it DOES NOT FIT because the terminals are the wrong side. My fault for not double checking.

Then by chance discovered that the seller Groves Batteries

Super helpful chaps who live in a hidden away small unit
Good pricing
Recommended to me by two other classic car owners
Look like they have a good turn over so I'll give them a plug <--- get it

http://www.grovesbatteries.co.uk/

stocked the Banner Uni Bull 50 300 so back where I started <--- get it, sorry

One word of warning, the Exide battery finder tool spits out rubbish - it suggests a battery for the Cerbera 4.5 I know won't fit as it is too tall.

Also as an aside these Banner batteries have got 4 terminals. The terminals on the other side have flats on them and holes drilled through the side

The unused terminals: will they clear the scuttle panel?

Anyone on here a moderator to be able to skicky the Wiki document?

Then we can all update with batteries that we find fit etc rather than just me editing the initial post each time

Thanks!

Yes no issue with the unused terminals - you even just leave that side of the plastic handle / cover on. The battery is not on the limit for height.
