Looks like I can get R1Rs in 205/50r15 front and 225/50r16 rear, same width as the non PAS tyres, but fronts will be 50 profile instead of 55. a few members on here seem happy with this set-up. Also quite a few seem to prefer the narrower set up even on 5.0l PAS cars.

So need to decide between the wider T1Rs, narrower R1Rs or something else.
This is what I have. Went from Redditch to Chesterfield this afternoon and it snowed and pissed down most of the way with lots of standing water and the tyres were fab. They are even better in the dry. I got a bit wet though.

To Angus 337: I once had a Hankook 205/50/15 on the front. Although only a bit smaller in diameter compared to the 55's they look a bit "lost" in the wheelarch. Not obvious at a glance but since you know it does'nt look right the more you look at it, know what I mean. If you want the original set-up take the Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE002, available in 205/55/15 and 225/50/16 for the rears and with the correct speed index. Good tyre and not expensive.
3% smaller diameter didn't sound too bad until I checked the actual diameter. 20mm smaller diameter sounds quite a lot, so I am worried they may look small in the arches, especially if I have to adjust the ride height to compensate. Not sure what to go for now.

225/50 & 245/45 T1Rs,
205/50 & 225/50 R1Rs or AD08s

rainsport 3s also getting good reviews so could go for them in the original 205/55 and 225/50 sizes.

There's always the option of bigger wheels, but suspect that will lead to further costs, e.g. bigger brake upgrades. And I really like my anthracite black estorils.

Put a set of 888s on the back of the Cerb, but its still off the road with rebuild at the moment. Will be interested to see what its like, reminds me of motorcycle tyres with a grove "when they feel like it" kind of profile. Definitely not a wet tyre!
Just my thought, I wouldn't be putting 888's just on the back of the cerb or any car come to that. For grip balance. I would suggest you think about putting 888's on the front as well. 888,s in the dry have significant grip above other Toyo tyre.
Had Kumho V70A (track tyres) on Griff, MOT failed it so garage put Kumho road tyres on the rear... most frightening drive of my life.... back wanting to over take rear all the way home.... even got a spotted commenting on how slow I was driving (they knew me)

Make sure fronts match rears
